The Joy of Giving at Clearview- December 19, 2011

December 30, 2011

Each year, the guidance counselors at Clearview work with the staff, community members, parents and our business partners to collect holiday gifts for Clearview families in need.

Mrs. Ginieczki and Mrs. Celata got a lot of help from Mrs. Medvene, one of Clearview’s parents, as she prepared the gifts for delivery to the lucky families.  She also got help from Mrs. Goldman, former Clearview parent whose business, California Tortilla, is also one of Clearview’s business partners.

Many of Clearview’s teachers and other staff members donated their time and money to make sure that every child at Clearview could have happy holidays! A few of them even let me take their pictures!

Over fifty-eight families had happier holidays thanks to the many generous elves of the Clearview community.

Lots of folks got involved in the delivery of the gifts including some former Clearview students and their friends.

Fifth Grade Field Trip to Inner Quest- November 11, 2011

November 15, 2011

The fifth grade classes journeyed to the Madiera School in McLean for an Inner Quest experience.  The students enjoyed a number of exhilerating outdoor team-building experiences.

For many students, going on the zipwire was the highlight of the day.  Of course, you have to wear a crash helmet for this experience!

Even the big kids love the zipwire as proved by Ms. Walsh and Mrs. Hamilton.

Thanks to the teachers for working late on a Friday for this extended hours field trip.  We are also grateful to the parents who accompanied the classes on this trip.

It was a beautiful fall day!

PTA Costume Bingo Night- October 28, 2011

October 28, 2011

The Clearview cafeteria was packed with kids in costumes at the PTA’s Annual Costume Bingo Night.  It takes many parent volunteers to make these wonderful and fun events possible for the children.  If you would like to volunteer for future events, you can go to http://clearviewpta.com/site/volunteer/ to sign up on the Clearview PTA website.

The Angry Bird meets Principal Pumpkin!

The cast of Harry Potter was here!

Clearview Wins First Place Float in the Homecoming Parade!- October 22, 2011

October 22, 2011

Woody (Blake) and Indiana Jones (Marissa) proudly display the first place trophy!

It is a Clearview tradition for the sixth grades to design and construct a float for the Herndon High School Homecoming Parade.  This year’s theme was a Hollywood theme.  As you can see, our students portrayed several stars of “Herndonwood”, with much star power!

They definitely gave an academy award winning performance!

Lovely ladies on the red carpet!

Adoring fans and a Clearview bee on the parade route!
